A Little note from Nana

Hi everyone, welcome to Maddie & Nana's Place. This blog is for Maddie. She has been scrapbooking for almost a year. She wanted her own blog so that she could enter challenges just like her Nana. She is learning to do everything crafty by herself. Maddie has her own ideas, her own "stuff" including my old cuttlebug. My daughter has been scrapbooking for years and now her oldest loves it too. She wants to do her own computer input so please be patient. Nana spoils her and she has been playing on our PC for a while. She loves YouTube and only needs a little help with spelling. At least she will allow me to help, even if it's only to tell her how to do it. She always wants to do it herself. She mastered my ATG gun in no time..lol We hope to have fun together.

For You, Back to School DT Card

Note from Nana:  Yahoo, Maddie starts back to school next week and she will have to start doing her own posting again!  She is still enjoying her last week of freedom.  I think I will teach her how to link and do it all...lol  She is way behind on commenting for our Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge Blog.  It won't take her long she's pretty quick.

Maddie made this card for our next challenge at Kona Kid Krafter's that starts on September 1st.  The theme is Back to School and/or Buttons.  She did both.  Once again, she made this card totally by herself.  I think she did a fantastic job.  She used Michu and Ratiny go to School digi from Softpencil.  They are our wonderful Sponsor for this challenge.  Elizabeth has some really cute stamps to offer.  Be sure to give them a visit.

I am sure Maddie will give this card to her new teacher.  We entered this cutie into the following challenges:

Here's what I think Maddie used to create her cute little card:
  • Michu and Ratiny go to School Softpencil digi
  • For You Stamp
  • My Copic's
  • DP and Cardstock from my stash
  • Martha Stewart & Marvy Flower Punches
  • Funky Scissors
  • Ink
  • 2 Orange Button, she used Stickles to make them sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by,  leave a comment for Maddie.  She loves to read them!

Happy Birthday Card for Oma

Note from Nana:  Happy happy joy joy...we are all in full blown summer mode now!  Maddie is still enjoying her summertime fun...boating..friends.  How fun it is to be a kid!  I can hardly believe school will start up again in less than a month Yikes!  I guess she will be posting soon enough.  A Nana's  job is never done..lol

Maddie made this card for Oma, which means Grandma.  Oma is what everyone calls my mother.  So this Birthday card is for her Great Grandmother who will turn 95 years young.  When my mother had me she was old enough to be my grandmother...Guess I was a real surprise.

Once again Maddie did the entire card by herself.  I alway's give positive advise when she is done.  Maddie will rarely change anything once it is adhered.    She is learning all the time.  She already knows a few golden rules, click my Copic's shut, clean the stamps right away and close the ink pads asap...hehehe.   I am always astonished by her vision of what she wants her cards and lay outs to look like.  Of course she wanted to use my Copic's...at least she asked this time!  I am very proud of  her.  Maddie has a good eye for design and great potential.  It's a little hard to truly just let her go.  I had gotten used to making gentle suggestions, and helping just a tad..guess those day's are gone!

This is also Maddie's DT card for "Anything Goes" Challenge 6 at Kona Kid Krafter's.  She used this cute little Kitty Play Digi by Robyn's Fetish at the New and Improved Stitchy Bear & I Did It Creations Crafting Boutique.  Yes it is a mouthful!  They are wonderful, fantabulous sponsors and are having a spontaneous END OF THE SUMMER CREATOR SALE!

We entered this playful little card into the following challenges:

Everything came from Nana's Stash except the Blue Stickles & Party Ribbon.  Here's what Maddie used to create her card:
  • Kitty Play Digi, by Robyn's Fetish Stitchy Bear Stamps
  • Happy Birthday Stamp (not sure which one she used)
  • Copic Markers
  • Orange & Blue Stickles
  • Gel Pen
  • 5 Orange Buttons with Orange Stickles on them
  • Funky Scissors
  • Ink, sponge
  • Various shaped punches & corner rounder
Thanks for looking, Maddie truly loves her comments!
