A Little note from Nana

Hi everyone, welcome to Maddie & Nana's Place. This blog is for Maddie. She has been scrapbooking for almost a year. She wanted her own blog so that she could enter challenges just like her Nana. She is learning to do everything crafty by herself. Maddie has her own ideas, her own "stuff" including my old cuttlebug. My daughter has been scrapbooking for years and now her oldest loves it too. She wants to do her own computer input so please be patient. Nana spoils her and she has been playing on our PC for a while. She loves YouTube and only needs a little help with spelling. At least she will allow me to help, even if it's only to tell her how to do it. She always wants to do it herself. She mastered my ATG gun in no time..lol We hope to have fun together.

Thanks for bailing me out! DT card

Nana's Note:  Maddie made this card for her Aunt Mel.  Not sure she really understands this sentiment.  She decided on using this one since she thinks her auntie needs help.  In her words " I know she will want me to babysit and help since she (auntie) is having her fourth child!"     As we all know, Maddie makes all her own designs and she decides what and how she wants it.  I am sure Mel will love it.

This is also her DT card for Kona Kid Krafter's.  The challenge this time is "Sparkle", stop by and join in the fun.  Who doesn't love sparkle.  Surprisingly Maddie didn't use any of her stickles....  She told me that Lilith, the buttons and her flower bling are sparkly enough haha.  I think she is starting to ration her stickles!

For You, Back to School DT Card

Note from Nana:  Yahoo, Maddie starts back to school next week and she will have to start doing her own posting again!  She is still enjoying her last week of freedom.  I think I will teach her how to link and do it all...lol  She is way behind on commenting for our Kona Kid Krafter's Challenge Blog.  It won't take her long she's pretty quick.

Maddie made this card for our next challenge at Kona Kid Krafter's that starts on September 1st.  The theme is Back to School and/or Buttons.  She did both.  Once again, she made this card totally by herself.  I think she did a fantastic job.  She used Michu and Ratiny go to School digi from Softpencil.  They are our wonderful Sponsor for this challenge.  Elizabeth has some really cute stamps to offer.  Be sure to give them a visit.

Happy Birthday Card for Oma

Note from Nana:  Happy happy joy joy...we are all in full blown summer mode now!  Maddie is still enjoying her summertime fun...boating..friends.  How fun it is to be a kid!  I can hardly believe school will start up again in less than a month Yikes!  I guess she will be posting soon enough.  A Nana's  job is never done..lol

Maddie made this card for Oma, which means Grandma.  Oma is what everyone calls my mother.  So this Birthday card is for her Great Grandmother who will turn 95 years young.  When my mother had me she was old enough to be my grandmother...Guess I was a real surprise.

Once again Maddie did the entire card by herself.  I alway's give positive advise when she is done.  Maddie will rarely change anything once it is adhered.    She is learning all the time.  She already knows a few golden rules, click my Copic's shut, clean the stamps right away and close the ink pads asap...hehehe.   I am always astonished by her vision of what she wants her cards and lay outs to look like.  Of course she wanted to use my Copic's...at least she asked this time!  I am very proud of  her.  Maddie has a good eye for design and great potential.  It's a little hard to truly just let her go.  I had gotten used to making gentle suggestions, and helping just a tad..guess those day's are gone!

This is also Maddie's DT card for "Anything Goes" Challenge 6 at Kona Kid Krafter's.  She used this cute little Kitty Play Digi by Robyn's Fetish at the New and Improved Stitchy Bear & I Did It Creations Crafting Boutique.  Yes it is a mouthful!  They are wonderful, fantabulous sponsors and are having a spontaneous END OF THE SUMMER CREATOR SALE!

We entered this playful little card into the following challenges:

Everything came from Nana's Stash except the Blue Stickles & Party Ribbon.  Here's what Maddie used to create her card:
  • Kitty Play Digi, by Robyn's Fetish Stitchy Bear Stamps
  • Happy Birthday Stamp (not sure which one she used)
  • Copic Markers
  • Orange & Blue Stickles
  • Gel Pen
  • 5 Orange Buttons with Orange Stickles on them
  • Funky Scissors
  • Ink, sponge
  • Various shaped punches & corner rounder
Thanks for looking, Maddie truly loves her comments!

Maddie did this card totally by herself.  I saw it when she was completely done. She did a wonderful job.  Oh yeah, she may be free from posting her creations for now but, she still has to do her duties as DT and comment on all the entries....  We entered this cutie into the following challenges:

Desktop Calendar

Nana's note:  Maddie is way to busy being a social butterfly to do her own post!  She is at an overnite so she doesn't have time to come to Nana's house...lol  Maddie made this cute little desktop calendar box at our montly crop.  Lorraine was kind enough to share this sweet project with us.  Maddie used all the stash she had to offer.  She kept the embellies to a minimum, just some bling and ribbon.  She did not want to add a sentiment or stamp...go figure.  I think she just had to go and check out all the other's progress and raid the chocolate cake!  We entered this into the following challenges:
She used all of Lorraines stash..

Thanks for looking, Maddie loves her comments.

Birthday Card for Gracie

Nana's Note:  Maddie is still in summer mode!  She made this card for her sister's birthday and our Kona Kid Krafter's challenge.  She worked on 1 layout for her scrapbook, her 5 progressive cards for our next crop and said I'm done Nana.  That means I gotta do the whole post again...LOL  That's ok it summer she has her mind on fun, fun and more fun.  She still wants to do all the creating just not the posting.  It must be too much like school work...Oh well .

Whiff of Joy is our sponsor for our Kona Kid Krafter's Bling it Up challenge.  It's a good thing I have several of their cute stamps.  Maddie used mostly her Stickles, she did borrow some of mine..ouch!  She decided to use her Watercolor pencils and not my copics...joy joy.  She scavanged my scrap, found some cute Polka Dotted DP and ribbon.  She used her own flower bling and butterfly.  She learned how to use Nestablities all by herself, no coaching..hehehe.  We entered this cutie into the following challenges:

Collin's Happy Birthday Card!

Nana's Note;  This is the second card Maddie made last night.  It will go to her BFF's little brother Collin.  He is having a birthday this month too, he will be turning 4.  Maddie created this entirely on her own.  She had already been busted using my copic's earlier, so she had permission to use them even though I was in another room.  We'll see how that went.  As I said before, she told me she would be sure to "click them shut and that she would use a light touch....OMGosh that was really hard!   She prefer's my Copic's to anything else.  My daughter Jamie can't believe that I let Maddie use them.  I told Jamie to keep her scrap borrowing hands off them...LOL  We entered this little cutie into the following challenges:

Here's what Maddie used to create her card:
  • Bugaboo Digi, Beach Monkey
  • Happy Birtday Stamp ?
  • My Copic's
  • Funky Scissors
  • Bling gems
  • Ins
  • Funky Scissors
